The Area

Principina a Mare is widely known and loved by many for its enviable features: it’s a small town, quiet and friendly, ideal for families with children. Principina is the perfect place for those who love a long beach of fine sand, the clear waters of a clean, refreshing sea (Blue Banner every year), the peaceful shade of the green pine woods that surround all the buildings and the possibility to get around safely on foot or bicycle.

At Principina, the bike path that goes to Marina di Grosseto can also be accessed on foot and offers inviting nature trails.

In addition to walking and biking, plenty of other sports facilities are available: there’s tennis, minigolf, equitation (a few kilometers outside of town), canoeing, sailing and windsurfing. The Parco della Maremma is a fascinating place to visit; it is especially interesting for enthusiasts of the local flora and fauna and excursions are organized regularly by bicycle, on horseback and by canoe.

There are many destinations in the vicinity of Principina for people who are interested in archeology (Roselle, Vetulonia, Sovana), and food (numerous country festivals and restaurants featuring local delights), nautical tourism (Giglio, Giannutri and Elba) and visits to trendy spots on the coast (Punta Ala, Argentario, Capalbio).
